sesama tetangga Asia Tenggara. Pameran bertajuk International Stickerfest
Street Casuals ini menyedot banyak perhatian penggemar stiker disana. Bagaimanakah
ceritanya? Simak!
How was the atmosphere of the
exhibition?
Influenced by the white beaches nearby, whales, sharks,
local original weed and hidden surf spots, the Cebu graffiti and street art
scene atmosphere is usually chill and relax. Most of our events also have a
very chill feel. Away from the metro, you don't have to wait for the night to
make some tags or slap some stickers. The same atmosphere carried the Street
Casuals sticker fest in a very smooth pace.
Everyone had fun during the event. After we finished
slapping the stickers and giving some to the attendees, we had some black book
sessions and sketch-ups. Most visitors also brought some blank stickers for
everyone to write on. Everyone was drunk, and most importantly, everyone had
fun!
How about your personal opinion about the exhibition?
For me, there was a sense of achievement getting all
stickers from all over the world. That itself, there is already success. The
"fun" in the event still matters, but what mattered more for me was
the connection. The bond we create for the fellows we have the same interest
and passion as ours. I am humbled by the number of writers and artists who sent
us their stickers and art. I am very thankful.
How you create this event?
This event started as an idea. The idea of pulling
international networks into sending their beloved stickers to our city. We
wanted to become part of the international community, be part of the global
river. I created this event by contacting many of the writers that I previously
know. Many were from Finland, Bay Area, California and other parts of Europe.
Soon enough, I was able to contact some of the writers from Indonesia, Brunei
and Singapore who helped a lot into promoting this fest. Later on, the poster
exploded to other countries. Stickers were arriving at my door every other day,
I could not keep track as to where these stickers were coming from, nor how did
they know of the event. I could not be more thankful to the international
community for helping us out into making this Stickerfest a reality. Definitely
a first in Cebu, Philippines. Thanks a lot!
Terima kasih Bek. Mari saling
mendukung skena stiker di Negara masing-masing dan siapa tahu kedepannya akan ada
hubungan yang baik antar Indonesia dan Filipina. Suatu kehormatan bisa meliput tentang acara dari teman sendiri. Salam tempel!
