Pertengahan Agustus kemarin Toronto, Kanada sebagai tuan rumah pameran stiker Crusty Creatures 2 dipenuhi ribuan gambar tempel yang memenuhi venue acara. Teman lama kami Andres Musta membagikan ceritanya dibawah ini. Seperti apa? Simak!
How was the atmosphere of the expo?
It was a very relaxed event this year. Overall attendance was down over previous years, perhaps because of the heavy rain, but the serious sticker heads came out and we had a good opportunity to relax, socialize, draw and trade. We had works by at least 200 artists on display, so in terms of variety of artwork, this year's exhibition was definitely the biggest - perhaps even too much to digest in one visit.
Are you planning to receive any feedback from the visitors after they went to the expo?
Feedback is informal and largely done over social media as people post photos from the event, and reflect on what worked or not. As much as we like sharing our love of stickers with everyone, this show in particular felt like it really was for the artists, and we were generally satisfied that most of the big sticker artists from Toronto came by and brought a positive, collaborative mood.

How about your personal opinion about the expo? And others too,
like the visitors, your friends etc?
We always wish more people could see it. Much of this show will remain on permanent display at the venue, so many more people will be able to experience it in the weeks & months ahead. A local graffiti/hiphop magazine, Wonderground (http://wondergroundmagazine. com/)
came by to document the event for their summer 2016 issue, and some other
businesses expressed an interest in showing the sticker panels at other venues.
There is a feeling of growth here, with new artists contributing this year,
from outside big cities and sending many more stickers from Japan &
Indonesia. It is always a thrill to share the art and enjoy people's reactions
to it.

Can you share for a lil bit about what's the idea behind the
expo?
The idea is simple: I love stickers, and want to share them with everyone. I love to exchange stickers, and often find myself with more than I can ever use. The best way to get them into circulation is to hold an event like this every year or two. I've been lucky to meet other people who feel the same way, and this year's show was a great team effort by PUA69, DEADBOY. GREYOWL, myself, alongside helpers Sofia & Christina & Traviz & Evro. Stickers are made for sharing; as an art form, they draw a community built on collaboration and mutual promotion. We celebrate each others' work. We share techniques, trade stickers, and collaborate on designs. It is a very positive, friendly, and supportive scene, that encourages everyone to express themselves, regardless of their age or skill level. We also take advantage of the sticker gathering to show and sell paintings, prints and sculpture by local graffiti artists. As a result, the show draws a variety of people: writers, graphic designers, skateboarders, fine artists, taggers, of all ages.
