Preview Pameran: Stickers Trip 2016

Kali ini kami kembali melakukan sedikit preview akan pameran stiker Stickers Trip yang segera berlangsung di Brescia, Italia tahun 2016 ini. Kami berhasil menjalin korespondensi dengan teman kami Cirigliano Andrea dari Trip Gallery, Brescia, Italia. Berikut adalah sedikit bocoran mengenai acara mendatang. How was the atmosphere of the sticker culture in Brescia?

Hi, in Brescia the sticker culture isn't very popular, it's going to breakthrough in a not to distant future. In the '90's the street culture was very big with a lot of graffiti and street art. Now the Italian government and police are completely against this Art form. You risk like a year in prison and a fine of more than €1000... The Trip Gallery was founded a couple of years ago, trying to bring street art to the mainstream public with a lot of famous names in like Rab Dauber, Art Of Sool, Mr Wany or the ex Superground-now Artkademy Crew. 

Are you planning to receive any feedback from the visitors after see the exhibition later?

I want to organize a big street art with not only stickers but also sculptures, live painting and a bunch of guest artists. I also want offer the opportunity to two of the best sticker artists that take part in the exhibition: whoever gets chosen has the chance to have a personal exhibition at Trip Gallery! Everyone else who participates will surely have the chance to do so in the future as well. Sure, if the event gets a great response from the public, the Stickers trip will become an annual event here!

How about your personal opinion about the exhibition?

I'm very excited about it! It's the first time see something like this in my area. Many stickers are being sent, mostly from Indonesia and Germany, but also from Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Us... and it's fucking COOL!!!It is also a big opportunity for me to expand the gallery abroad and raise awareness of a different of art filled with new passionate, hard-working artists.

Can you share for a lil bit about what's the idea behind the exhibition?

Everything started from a friend-a.k.a. Rab-who had participated for some years now for “ Vida Loka, Stick Of It All “, he showed me and I thought “WOW!, that's so cool!!”. So I decided to do something like that here. The name comes from the union of Stickers and Trip Gallery, the result is STICKERSTRIP. The event will be in February, the month of my birthday, and it's a little present to  myself. I want to do something cool for myself and the people who support me. I especially want to thank Carmen Town, Minoia Board & Co., Comune di Brescia. for sponsoring these events! The Show will be divided in two parts: The Trip Expo with people from all around  the world and the Gallery Expo with a lot of my artist friends & guests. There's  going to be bands playing, live painting and fun special guests.
