Stick It With Ropre

What's your name street art on the street?
Artist name street Ropre

Why is that?
This is a codename who invented to hide my identity as did art illegal. It is in homage to my city of origin = black gold

How you made your artwork?
Am visual artist formed in the federal university of Uberlandia since 2010, so work with paints pictures for exposed in galleries and street art. Inside the street art do stickers and posters for torcar with artists worldwide, with screen for technical, and drawings woodcut.

How do you distribute them in the street?
In my city, get a night for necklace ... And use the postal service to distribute the world.

Which technique you prefer?
I prefer woodcut, screen printing and paints
What is the most important between the quantity or quality?
For me, the most important is quality because so now be interpreted best. But the amount is essential to fix his name among the great artists urban.

And the latter is what is your opinion on the label of the art in their city and the world globally?
In my city, the art sticker was unknown until 2011, when i started collages. Still there are few artists art sticker in practicing with frequency Uberlandia. Lone is well to me. Therefore mostly time sticker and poster art work alone. The arts university students sometimes get stick in exchange of notes in any discipline. Looking for the movement of global art sticker, see an increasing intensity. Is an art that have signed se. And see what is migrating the streets for the arts gallery. And that I also doing here. Expose stickers in galleries to disclose, attract and who knows win new practitioners. Collaboration between the feature artists urban art sticker is a force. A territory of global conquest. If before us via my work only in the streets of my city, now i see my work in the world. And the home in all this motion is the trust and collaboration between artists.

Stick It With Greatt Whyte

Salam tempel. Tentunya kami bercanda perihal terbang tadi. Namun, beruntung bagi macan semua, kita tak perlu jauh-jauh kesana, dengan surat elektronik, Greatt Whyte bersedia membagi cerita dibalik gambar tempelnya kepada kita semua. Langsung saja!

Please introduce yourself.
Hello my name is Greatt Whyte
What's the story behind your street art name?
The story behind my artist name is not the most creative to be honest. My surname is Whyte (pronounced White) since childhood I've always been fascinated by the sea and it's inhabitants my favorite animal of all time is the Great White shark, so it seemed only natural to coin the name Greatt Whyte (the double T in Greatt is a take on the original spelling of my Gaelic ancestors name Uwhiett).
How is the sticker scene in your city or country?
The sticker scene in the UK is very diverse and exciting, there is many amazing street artists & 'slap masters' here. My home city of Manchester (MCR) is the 'Capital of the north' and is an eclectic and edgy city with a reputation for setting standards and pioneering trends, the sticker scene here is fresh and addictive! every style of sticker art can be found on our street furniture from silk screen, Hand tagged, Vinyl, wheat paste and digital.

How you make your artworks, using what kind of technique?
The technique I'm favoring overall at the minute is Digitally created artworks, printed on Laserjet & Inkjet printers onto vinyl or paper. I've arrived at this way of creating stickers through years of creating stickers by hand, tagging them with letter styles and characters onto egg shell stickers (The Hello my name is types) i found this to be laborious and in some instances incredibly repetitive. The technique I'm using now allows me to create many different, fun, colorful and cost effective sticker art!(I'm currently working on a new style of semi rigid UV resistant 'Photographic Digital Prints' with a super strong adhesive to the rear, but for now that's top secret!

How did you play with your stickers on the streets, did you quite often make a collaboration?
My output for my art is the same as every other street artist or tagger, GET YOUR ART WHEREVER YOU CAN!!.I have never collaborated with other artists on my stickers (I have created many custom stickers for other artists and friends), though that's not to say that the future will not see collaborations, that being said it's only a matter of time before a concept takes place, especially as there is so many other amazing artists out there.

What's the most important, quantity or quality?
Quality over quantity every time.  I'd rather trade 1 amazing sticker over a 1000 poor quality any day.

Can you share us your opinion about sticker art?
My opinion on sticker art has stayed the same from the first moment I was introduced to it 8 years ago, it's a very important secret, in-plain sight culture, most people on a day to day basis do not even see the sticker art on the lamppost or on the shop door let alone take the time to properly look or read at what is a free art show right in front of them, but.....for those who do see, who seek out the sticker art on their travels or put their own art out there the rewards are exciting and limitless.
Sticker art is a fantastic medium of political, cultural or artistic advertisement that in my short years (definitely in my city) has grown from a quick way to get up your tag or experiment a typeface to an elaborate and sometimes outlandishly crazy art exhibition taking on every form, color and shape in what is an infinite show of artistic skill and expression.
Peace.

Cheers mate!

Review Pameran Expo Street Art, Brazil

Hello Fabio of Sem Tinta Crew, greeting from Indonesia, how are you?
Hello! I am fine thanks.

Good then, I heard about Sem Tinta Crew exhibition, I got the picture also, nice event. What’s the idea behind this event?
The idea was spread over other street art facilities here in our city!!Here the sticker is not well known!! Here are known in the graffiti!!

Oh, I see. What do you expect by making this event?
I hope people like the result. That most people start making sticker!! That the sticker has a unique and different thing from other types of street art!! Who are you to have contact with many people around the world and be able to exchange their art!!

Nice. Did you receive any feedback from the people who went to this event?
Yes!! Many people came to ask what it was and that worked part exchange..how do sticker!! We had several questions!!

Oh, Nice. What is your opinion about sticker culture and sticker event like this in your city?
Well, here in my town the sticker is starting is not widely known!! Most believe that after this event the sticker will begin to be a plus on the street art.

How many sticker artists were join the event?
Not only here in my town, but in other surrounding cities here in my town. In the event there were people from other cities.. In exact number not remember, most were over 40 artists, both here from Brazil and other countries, as USA, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, Mexico, Indonesia etc.

Wow so many countries
Many countries. Yeahh!!

What is your biggest hope of this sticker art in Brazil? Maybe in the future, or the next year to come?
I hope to reach the greatest number of people and that the stickers go to town, that many people begin to paste, that is not criminalized one thing. But, in my humble opinion, not every sticker artist is a sticker slapper, but it’s ok, so we have so many media, not always in public, maybe in gallery, art space.

Sticker is an art form right?
I agree. But I believe the street is all. But sometimes not all have the habit or conditions to go to a gallery, have internet access books and magazines! I think the street everyone has access. Even the vandal not be the only way. I believe that even being illegal it is valid and sometimes a condition! A more rapid way to express.

Than you Fabio, good luck for you and Sem Tinta Crew. Thank you Jho from Cola Colante also. Any shouts out?
Ok. I warmly thank all of Indonesian who sent me pack. Thank you to you for the interview and I hope to keep in touch.

You’re welcome.

Nantikan!

Review Buku Cubabrasil

Kami membeli sebuah buku street art berjudul Cubabrasil.

Mari disimak.

“Broken down building, garbage littered streets, stray dogs, abandoned lots-poor neighborhoods and open hearts connect the perspective of the Cuban, Brazilian and German artist that have come together for the historic and monumental project called Cubabrasil. For the German and Brazilian artists who are used to exploring the world and invading neighborhoods this was an opportunity to share their craft and influence a society that has had few encounters with aerosol art. The willingness of these aerosol artists (and others) to donate their art to the streets and poor communities is a phenomenon that never ceases to amaze me. while the artist could easiy charge for their work, they continue the tradition of painting for the neighborhoods that accept their visual language, their wild style paintings. Old school pioneers would be proud and these artists too are old school pioneers in their own cities.

Deep African roots are uncovered by this international art exchange. African spirits and culture travelling on slave ships, landed in both Cuba and Brazil over four hundred years ago and a new world started to be shaped. African slaves brought over customs, language and beliefs that were not present in these foreign lands but today are quite common. Santeria, Candumble and its African mother, Yoruba are common belief systems in Cuba, Brazil and New York, introduced by the displaced people that today guide the lives of thousands if not millions. One can say that an African legacy is seen in the DNA that traveled for generations thru the veins of the spiritual people, ultimately creating the pioneers of this at movement.

Neon, Won, Cemnoz and Stone from Germany are among the first generation of aerosol art in their respective cities. I can recall meeting Neon for the first time in New York City in 1988 and marveling at the young tourist who traveled so far just to see the birthplace of this art form and who sought to paint with the artists, like myself, who were active on the trains at the time. Stone and Won have also made the New York pilgrimage but have also traveled around the world painting and perfecting their craft in the streets. The BerlinBeamBoys are image projection mastred and visual DJs that blend music, electronic images and culture-jamming messages in outdoor spaces that are part experiment and very much a rhythmic performance.

Os Gemeos, Vitche, Jana Joana and Nina from Brazil are pioneering aerosol artists and visionary in the manner they engage and work with the urban landscape. Their characters provide social commentary that celebrates and critiques their surroundings, their city; it is a  refreshing take on this old tradition. Big eyes instead of folding arrows, solid yellow filled-in letters in place of the typical color blend, and original caricatures versus comic book rip-offs, the Brazilian crew has their own thing going on. And, like their German counterparts, they love to paint.” (KET, New York, 2008).

Salut!
