Article For Global Street Art

Beberapa saat kemarin kami mendapat info bahwa Global Street Art membuka open call bagi para blooger seluruh dunia untuk mengirimkan artikel tentang skena street art dan graffiti di kota masing-masing. Kami tentu tidak melewatkannya. Nah, berikut adalah petikan artikel yang kami kirimkan.

A man drawing an empty blank wall. Slowly he began to decorate the walls using spray paint. People around passing just to take pictures. Some locals wonder about the legality of the activity. The young man replied that he had received permission from the wall owner. Apparently, the owners are happy with the picture wall made by this young man and surprisingly even had leave a special request  to the artist. Finally, a play on Michelangelo, Creation of God image was painted on the wall. Not to forget the lettering of Surya Fitness, a special appreciation of the artist to the wall owner who is also the owner of small fitness business. Simple and effective.

The story above is the real story of Popo and Robowobo, the street artist and his friend, who shared their experiences when they draw on the walls of ordinary citizen who happen to have a business in the fitness services. I perceive that the relationship between the people in my city in Denpasar and street art and graffiti is mutualism symbiotic relationship which the artist was able to pour their work and the resident of a public space can enjoy the art freely and create a good atmosphere. This relationship can be maintained in order to produce a good relationship between art and society.

Stick It With AuOsce

Negeri Spaghetti,  Italia adalah kunjungan kami berikutnya. saya mengenal beberapa sticker artist dari Negara asal Alessandro del Piero ini. Contohnya saja Valda, Stelle Confuse samapi juga Ilclod. Kali ini, kita akan berkenalan dengan salah satu lagi tambahan yang masih segar, dialah AuOsce. Seperti apa kisahnya? Simak!

Please introduce yourself.

AuOsce it's a spontaneous collective (bad organized) with strong semiotic perplexity and a scurrilous attraction for Art. Since 2010 we are stickers addicted and lovers but most important we are a big family based between south and north of Italy...and some relative spread all around the globe. 

What's the story behind your street art name?

Our name come from an old dialect slang which means "today nothing but troubles". Basically the mirror of our times! 

How is the sticker scene in your city or country?

Sticker's scene in our country is strong and constantly growing. We have many sticker heads of the world sticker's scene.

How you make your artworks, using what kind of technique?

Normally we create our works using Photoshop, sometimes hand-drawing. We use online printer shop to get our stickers or stencil self - cut but also to get posters. For big jobs we use the projector. 

How did you play with your stickers on the streets, did you quite often make a collaboration?

We like to fill up everywhere with our stickers or, when it's the right place we make stickers combo with all the stuff traded with our friends worldwide. 

What's the most important, quantity or quality?

Quantity is important when you need to stick a lot, but most important is quality: we want to give colors and good vibrations to this grey world, not only with a lot of shit!

Can you share us your opinion about sticker art?

Sticker's most important peculiarity is based on the slap action: speed of execution and viral of the "message". We started the production of stickers to leave a mark of our passage, because we loved to see our shit through all our friends around the globe. Even if a sticker may seems something small and harmless it can resists long time to make its duty! To produce stickers is dope: once you started you cannot stop. Also it changed your way to see the city: every shitty grey light pole can turn as a great spot for a combo. Its color and its unlawfulness make it a powerful communications tool.

Stick It With Bombdalove

Bombdalove. Itulah dia pergerakan yang dilakukan oleh salah seorang kenalan saya yaitu Rharharha. Kami berkenalan lewat sebuah media social pertengahn tahun 2015 sewaktu kami masih mengambil tempat di Jogja dan ia sendiri tinggal di Bali. Pria yang sejak setahun terakhir hijrah dari Jakarta ini melakukan sebuah pergerakan dengan menebarkan cinta yang dituangkan melalui Bombdalove di seantero Pulau Dewata. Seperti apa ceritanya? Bisa dijelaskan mengapa namanya demikian?

Spirit dari Bombdalove berakar dari spirit dunia street art itu sendiri yaitu bombing. Sehingga Bombdalove merupakan menyebarkan gagasan imaji mengenai cinta secara visual di jalanan.

Bagaimana proses Anda menghasilkan karya? Apakah dengan stensil, grafitti, hand drawing, kolase, atau proses digital dan teknik lainnya?

Mural, stensil dan yang paling umum adalah stiker. saya menggunakan teknik manual hand drawing dan juga digital printing.

Bagaimana Anda mendistribusikan karya Anda di jalan?

Kalau stiker, saya menempelkannya sembari jalan dengan motor. Saya menempelnya setiap saat. Stikerpun sudah disiapkan di bawah jok motor. Paling enak bekerja berdua, dikarenakan boncengan lebih leluasa untuk menempelkannya sehingga durasi yang dibutuhkan menjadi cepat yaitu saat berhenti di lapmu merah timing-nya tidak disia-siakan.

Menurut Anda, bagaimana perkembangan dunia street art sendiri di kota Anda, terlebih seni stiker?

Bali menurut saya, merupakan pulau wisata, banyak orang-orang terutama street artist dari mancanegara yang berlibur disini. Selain berlibur, mereka juga meluangkan waktu untuk jalan-jalan, saat jalan-jalan itulah mereka menempel stiker. Buktinya bisa dijumpai nama-nama tidak asing di beberapa tempt di Bali misalnya Kuta, Cangu. Nama-nama seperti 1Up, baik yang dikenal maupun tidak dikenal lainnya. Kadang ada satu spot di Kuta, penuh dengan stiker. Misalnya di boks listrik dan rambu-rambu lalu lintas sebagai meeting point orang-orang menempel stiker.

Bagaimana kesan Anda mengenai dunia sticker art?

Stiker bisa jadi sebuah permainan yang mengasyikkan.Sebut saja sebagai sticker game. Kita bisa bermain dengan cara menempel di tempat-tempat yang menurut kita strategis. Bisa dilakukan pada saat kita jalan-jalan. Atau juga ditempel berdampingan dengan stiker-stiker yang lain sehingga rasanya seperti bertemu teman stiker. Stiker juga menjadi media berinteraksi atau berkomunikasi dengan orang-orang.
