Preview Pameran Peel This 2 Houston, Texas

Kembali lagi bersama kami. Simak!

How was the atmosphere of the sticker culture in your country?
The atmosphere of the sticker culture in the USA is very active today. I’m sure some cities and states more than others. Locally here in Houston, Texas the entire movement is growing with a huge surge these last few years.

Are you planning to receive  any feedback from the visitors after see the exhibition later?
We would love to have feedback after the Peel This 2 sticker art show is over. In 2014 we established Peel This sticker art show with a local bencher and art/sticker collector name Bigpoppabuddah. We started off with 4 local artist on the original Peel This show flyer. By show date we received over 80 submissions from around the world. It was great to see such a huge appreciation for sticker art bringing the world together. It’s amazing and humbling at the same time. With all the feedback responses and late submissions still coming in after the original show is what encouraged us to want to do an additional show.

We established the sticky business art show in 2015 featuring a lot of the artist that may have got lost in the mail and re submitted or submissions at the last minute causing those them to come in after the show date due to snail mail.

In 2016 we have were encouraged by local sticker brand street creations to bring back the original Peel This sticker art show that it is very much needed in our city. Exposing all the creative artist out there that may be ignored by the traditional artist, galleries and collectors. With the Peel This 2 sticker art show we hope to shed light on the local slap community as well as the world wide community of the sticker underworld and the artist that create trade and slap ‘em up all over the world for the public viewing pleasure.

How about your personal opinion about the sticker exhibition?
713incs personal opinion about the Peel This 2 sticker art show exhibit is an adhesive adventure for all ages. With interactive props and installs to slap up your own work, create your own sticker tables laced up with slabs and slabs of blank slaps to create your own on the spot, canvas installs honoring all the past and present artist from all 3 shows.

The peel this sticker art show is bringing a worldwide adhesive art movement together under 1 roof for the same cause. We are full of pure amazement appreciation and respect to all artist applying stickers, slaps, adhesives as a medium for their creativity, branding and sticking it to the man daily.

Can you share for a lil bit about what's the idea behind the exhibition?
The idea behind the original peel this sticker art show was a concept shared between 713inc artist and Bigpoppabuddah our infatuation with stickers and the artist that create them.

For myself as a kid everything I was into honored stickers as a medium to expose there cause from music bands, record labels, skateboard brands, BMX brands, underworld magazines and artist. 40 something yrs later stickers are still very heavy medium used by all.

Together we felt that Houston, Texas needed a solo art show focusing on stickers and other forms of adhesive mediums. To our knowledge the peel this sticker art show we curated together in 2014 was the very 1st sticker/adhesive art show in the history of our city Houston, Texas.

S/o to all the tigers worldwide put in work and sticking it to the man with their adhesive madness slap ‘em the blocks 1 at a time much respect to all the artist that have contributed to the art shows and 713inc giveaways over the last 5.5 years

Virtual Tour: Rumah Atas (Street Art Gallery) Surabaya

Rumah atas beralamat di Jalan Karanggayam No. 26 Tambaksari, Surabaya.
Apa saja kegiatan Rumah Atas?

Maju terus can!

Stick It With Wolfgang Van Reribs

Satu lagi dari Brazil. Dialah Reribs. Tunggu apa lagi macan, sikat!

Please introduce yourself.
Wolfgang Von Reribs is a Brazilian urban artist since 2007, currently stands out in Sticker Art, which propagates the modality along with your collectives Cola Aqui! Stick Here! And CREW ZONE GANG, with started training in graffiti workshops, painting and stencil. He Has participated in collective expos in countries such as Brazil, Canada, Spain, United States, Netherlands, India and Italy, in addition to their work from several countries such as Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Philippines, France, Netherlands, India, Italy, Japan, United States, Paraguay, Russia, in addition to others around the world without your knowledge.
City: São Paulo - Country: Brazil

What's the story behind your street art name?
In Brazil the urban art scene is very much alive in the cities, especially with pixação and tags. Initially I started in the urban art making tags, after migrating to pixação, passing the bombers, graffiti, stencil, stickers and posters. Initially just started signing my last name RERIBS in order to maintain my anonymity as an artist and soon after took the full name Wolfgang Von Reribs, although it still has anonymity as present in my works, I think the focus should be in the arts, not the artist.

How is the sticker scene in your city or country?
When I started paste stickers, the scene of sticker art was very strong in my town were more than 150 active artists on the scene, only in my state. With time the scene was slowing coming to have less than 15 artists active between 2010 and 2011. In this period I continued doing my solo work on only a collective, when met in 2011 participated in the exposition Cola Here # 03 which together with the creators formed a collective and begin to encourage sticker art, making expos and artists' meetings. Today the scene is coming to be large and active again, the country have about 90 or more artists active in the stickers and that number has only grown recently.

How you make your artworks, using what kind of technique?
Currently used the silk screen techniques and stencil, and fingerprints for make posters.

How did you play with your stickers on the streets, did you quite often make a collaboration?
I produce all my jobs alone, although count on interactive collaboration of other individual artists and appreciators of my work to the paste, I usually stick them and in the company of other artists. Since 2012 I created the habit of going out to paste at least once every month. And currently this number ranges from weekends.

What's the most important, quantity or quality?
The two are connected and complement, I like to let my job spread over a larger number of places. For me the most important is the process itself and not the end result.

Can you share us your opinion about sticker art?
The sticker art is a type of street art that I see growing more recently, because it integrates various kinds of arts and materials, prints, photographs, drawings freehand, digital arts, stencil, tags, graffiti, etc. There are all kinds of possibilities within the sticker art and for being easy and fast application, many artists come migrating to it. The growth of this sport makes me very pleased!
